OUR MOTTO: WOMAN IS POWER
Iron Thumb: recreation of mountain
man/trapper of the American West by Jan
Manning of Iron Thumb Productions
Members let loose their creativity at an
October meeting devoted to the art and
craft of pumpkin carving.
MEETINGS: The Livermore Woman’s Club has met one
or more times each year since its founding in 1896. The
COVID-19 pandemic interfered with, but did not completely
derail, our usual schedule of meeting 11 months each year.
January 2023 marked our return to normal scheduling.
LWC meets at members’ homes, the Livermore
Community Hall or the Livermore Community Church. We
sometimes join forces with other local organizations
(Mountain Gals, Glacier Gals, Red Feather Historical
Society) for a meeting, field trip or tour. Meetings include a
program, refreshments and sometimes a business meeting
and generally are open to the public.
We hold several special meetings each year. First on
our schedule is our Friends and Family Picnic usually held
in June. Members bring a dish to share, and we enjoy good
food and lots of socializing. New officers are installed at
this meeting, and outgoing officers are thanked for their
service. Second is our anniversary meeting in August where
we gather to honor our founders, reflect on our long history
and, on occasion, enjoy a special program. Third is our
November Soup Lunch and Cookie Exchange held the
Saturday before Thanksgiving. Several members bring
soup which we enjoy with rolls and butter. After lunch, we
exchange holiday cookies, and members return home with a
container full of holiday cheer.
PROGRAMS: Our programs arguably are one of the best
reasons for joining LWC. We have a long history of
programs presented by members or by outside speakers that
are interesting, fun and informative. LWC has “something
for everyone” as a look at any of the following links below
will show.
